sun seeking

A few weekends ago we were feeling a little cooped up and restless and even though the air was biting, the kids and I bundled up for a brief escape to the park in search of some ever-elusive sunshine. Sometimes that's all it takes to refresh your perspective.

a tiny hat

hazel bee 020 fb
One of the things I knew I must knit once we found out a new baby was on it's way was the pilot cap by Little Turtle Knit. It was a super fast knit and enjoyable enough that I'd like to knit it again which is good because this little hat has since gone MIA. It's knit out of Sweet Fiber Yarns Merino Twist Worsted in the colourway Paper Birch which is hands down my favourite colourway of all time. If you haven't knit with Sweet Fiber Yarn yet you must, must, must. Melissa creates the most beautiful colourways! The cap was a little big for my tiny girl at first but even still was totally wearable. I could see this becoming my go to pattern for a quick baby gift.

one month

I realized while writing this mornings post that I had yet to share Hazel's one month photo so here it is!
This is something I started doing when Oliver was just two months old with Roscoe the bear. I'll have to dig out the embarrassingly, horribly taken photos of Oliver and the slightly better photos of Lilly to compare at some point. It's fun to see family resemblances.

(to Hazel- thank you for being my hairiest baby. I guess I can let all that heartburn you caused me slide. --love Mom)

and then there was Hazel

Hazel Bee will be 2 months old tomorrow! why does the time have to go by so quickly. I've had this post in my drafts for a couple of weeks now because I feel like I have so many things I want to say about this sweet girl and yet the words just don't seem to be there. My heart is full of so many things I want to share about how we got here, to a family of five, about the highs and lows that led us to where we are now. I will say that we are all madly in love with her though. completely smitten.
