wrapping it up

catching up from the last video and wrapping up this year.

and so it continues from colleensimply on Vimeo.

I'm thankful for this year and everything it's brought but so soooo ready for 2012. Hoping 2012 is a year full of change for us. I usually find change an overwhelmingly scary thing. You know, change almost always requires making a decision and well, making decisions often lead to mistakes. Mistakes are scary, especially for someone with perfectionist tendencies. I think change has been a long time coming for us though and I'm excited at the possibilities that change could mean.

school day
Friday is Oliver's last day of school before Christmas break and I think we are all excited about this for different reasons. Lilly is going to be glad to have Oliver all to herself for a few weeks though, that's one thing I'm sure of. It's been 3 months of school so far and she still misses him every day he's gone. Who knew the hardest adjustment to kindergarten would be hers?

i heart faces: weekly challenge | feet

feet
my childhood memories are a seemingly endless hazy summer day dripping in all the golden light and warmth of my nearly 30 years. The heat of the pavement warming my feet, always relieved to find the coolness of grass. Raising my own children has reminded me to slow down, to find delight in the simple things.

hello december

snow dino
scenes from a forgotten summer ~ a photo from our first snowfall a few weeks back

I'm always so surprised by the changing months. I don't really know why but they always seem to sneak up on me. Like waking up on the first of a new month is some monumental feat. It's silly but true.

So hello December, I'm looking forward to your cozy evening, to all the glitter and wonder and JOY that you bring....

....Oh and little more of that white stuff would be great.
